What is 60fps Video and Does It Actually Look Better - Or Just Weird?

There's a 60fps version of a popular movie trailer floating around YouTube - someone re-processed it with AI frame interpolation - and if you watch it, something feels immediately, unmistakably wrong. The actors move too smoothly. The cinematography looks cheap. The whole thing has the uncanny quality of a soap opera shot in a bathroom. Technically, the 60fps version has more visual information. But it looks worse. This is genuinely weird, and understanding why tells you a lot about how frame rate actually works.
