How to Grab a Reddit Video to Your Device
Reddit hosts a ton of great video clips, but downloading them isn't obvious from the app. Here's what I do: find the video post you want, tap the three dots or share button, and select 'Copy Link'. That gives you the direct post URL which is all I need.
Paste that link into the box at the top of this page. I'll fetch all the available formats for you, video and audio merged together - something Reddit's own share function doesn't actually do properly.
Why Reddit Videos Sometimes Have No Audio
Here's a quirk that trips a lot of people up. Reddit stores video and audio as two separate files on their servers. When you try to download the video file directly, there's no audio in it at all.
My tool handles this automatically - it fetches both streams and merges them together before giving you the download. So what you get is a proper MP4 with both video and audio intact, unlike the silent files you'd get from other methods.
Public Posts Only and Content Rights
This only works on public Reddit posts. If a post is in a private subreddit, or has been deleted, or is behind a login wall, the tool simply won't be able to reach it.
Please only download content you have a right to save. Reddit creators put effort into their posts - keep it for personal use and don't redistribute or repost their work without permission.
